Rachel Kenney is an actor currently pursuing her MFA in Acting at the Yale School of Drama. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA, and a proud native of Cleveland, Ohio.
Prior to going back to grad school at YSD, Rachel was a working actor based in New York City. She has worked at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Lincoln Center Theater. On television, Rachel had a prominently featured role opposite Steve Buscemi in the final episode of HBO's acclaimed series Boardwalk Empire. She also had a recurring role as the badass Detective Pascal in several episodes of MTV's scripted drama Eye Candy.
Rachel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern University with a degree in theatre and film, receiving special honors for outstanding achievement in theatre. She has also attended the British American Drama Academy (BADA). She's studied acting with Austin Pendleton at HB Studio and TV/film acting with Bob Krakower.
In addition to acting, Rachel is a World-Championship level Irish Dancer who studied at the Burke School of Irish Dance and has competed as both a solo and a team dancer all across the United Sates, Canada, England, Scotland, and Ireland. She was also the 2008 National Champion in Prose Interpretation for the National Speech & Debate Association (formerly the National Forensic League), winning for her rendition of portions of Katharine Hepburn's autobiography.
Rachel is also an actor and director with the Story Pirates, a non-profit ensemble of actors, comedians, teachers, and musicians who adapt stories written by kids into hilarious, high-energy sketch-comedy shows and perform those stories for the kids at their schools. When she's not acting or performing with the Story Pirates, Rachel does voiceover work and provides dialect coaching for actors throughout New York City.
